This fun bookish meme is hosted by MizB at Books And A Beat. The rules are pretty simple: Grab your current read, open a random page, and pick two teaser, non-spoilery sentences to share from that page.
Here’s mine for this week:
“There’s nothing like the scent of your own home, is there? I don’t mean how it ordinarily smells, when you’re living in it- that smell you don’t even notice, because it’s always there, and so are you. I mean the peculiar perfume that greets you when you’ve been away, the delicate balance of wood and paint and plaster and upholstery, stripped of your own living essence: just the substance of the house and nothing else.”
I did receive an ARC of this book but didn’t get to it until the day it came out- there will definitely be a review of this coming your way soon. I really like it so far!

Are you participating in ARC August? Not that you need another challenge, but it sounds right up your alley.

Oooh I didn’t know that was a thing. Yes I just might, because ARCs keep falling off my radar. Thanks for the heads up!

I love that excerpt! And I didn’t rush to pick up this book b/c I haven’t loved Williams’ last few books as much as A Hundred Summers, but will look for your thoughts.

This is the first time I am reading one of her books, and so far I like it.
